Kenya champions Gor Mahia put their chances of reaching the knockout stage in jeopardy after Lydia Ludic of Burundi forced them to a 2-2 draw in the Group B Day Two clash on Tuesday in Chamazi.

Rwandan-import, Jacques Tuyisenge, saved Gor Mahia from the jaws of defeat with a last gasp equalizer to deny the Burundians their maiden win of the competition.

Kitenge Alixie scored the opener for Ludic in the opening minute before Philemon Otieno equalized for Gor Mahia five minutes later. Dan Wagaluka restored Ludic’s lead before Tuyisenge struck at the death to settle the scores.

In the other Group B match, a late goal from Mohammed Hussein earned AS Ports of Djibouti a 1-1 draw against Rwanda’s Rayon Sports of Rwanda. Earlier, Pierre Kwizera put the Kigali-based side in the lead, and were cruising to defeat only Hussein to deny them victory in the closing stages.

The competition continues on Wednesday with the final round of matches of Groups A and C.
