Gambia champions, Ports Authority is upbeat about their chances in their first leg Preliminary Round clash of the 2017 Total CAF Champions League against Ivorian side, Sewe Sports.

The two sides will lock horns on Sunday, 12 February 2017 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Ports Authority, handled by Alagi Sarr, who doubles as head coach of the Gambian CHAN team has called up a 22-man squad for the encounter against the Ivorians, losing finalists in the 2014 CAF Confederation Cup.

“We are preparing very well. The boys are focused. We don’t know much about our opponents (Sewe Sports) and so we will respect them,” Sarr said.

Sarr added that his aim remains a respectable performance that will be easy for him to build on at the return leg.

“We will play our game plan and I’m certain that we will not disappoint our fans because we have a return leg to play later”'.

The second leg will take place on Sunday, 19 February 2017 in Abidjan with the winner due to face either Royal Leopards (Swaziland) or AS Vita (DR Congo) at the 1/16th round.
